Red Rocks

Sunrise 5:30am
Formally known as Mount Ann in Gloucester, Red Rocks is a quick thirty minute hike (or up to an hour depending on how many incorrect turns are made). The top of the rock reveal an amazing view of the North Shore. My friend, Marissa, and I woke up at the ripe hour of four-twenty am to watch the sun rise on the summit. Although we got ourselves a bit lost, we followed our senses and finally made it up to top of the rock just as the sun was rising. We were also surprised to be greeted at the top by a band of the most ridiculous hippies I've ever seen. They had camped out the night before and were still singing around the campfire at five-thirty am. We conversed with our fellow adventurers and learned that there was a party on the rock the night before. How drunken teenagers survived the hike down is beyond me. One of the hippies told us he has to wear two different shoes, since one of his legs is one and a half inches shorter than the other. Another person weighed at least four hundred pounds and sat on a log playing the bongos the entire length of our visit. The next hipster we met was an acrobat, specializing in ribbon dancing... ? He actually stopped Marissa and I on our descent and recited us a poem, bellowing each of the verses and waving his hands in emotion. It was probably the strangest experience of my life. The only woman there wore a knee length patch-work skirt and kakis underneath. Her watermelon boobs wagged free since she clearly wasn't wearing a bra. She reminded me of Mary  Moo Cow, her head was in the clouds, she was definitely doing some crazy shit. Anyways, it was quite the adventure. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll meet some crazy hippies too!
