Dyke's Pond Wandering

Molly and I embarked on an evening walk with our puppies, intending to hike Red Rocks. However, we somehow ended up at Dyke's Pond in Gloucester. We recognized the spot because we have been swimming there several times. There is an awesome zip line across the most beautiful part of the pond. Instead of walking around Dyke's Pond to the right, as we would to find the zip line, we walked to the left. We ended up letting the dogs weave their way through the many possible trails to take. Since both Moll and I are terrible with directions, I tracked our route with my new favorite app, RunKeeper. We turned around when it started to get dark, but the pups loved the open forest trails and occasional opening to water for a quick dip. It was a lovely way to spend an evening. Parking for Dyke's pond is located less than a mile from exit 14 off 128.
