Breakheart Reservation

Thanksgiving is here which basically means reuniting with my main adventurer chicks. Although there have been several opportunities for excellent exploring at college, it's just not the same as my beautiful North Shore oasis. So obviously, now that I'm home for a week, I have a lot of blogging to make up for. Today a couple of my ladies and I took our puppies to Breakheart reservation in Saugus (off route one). Let me tell you, it breaks my heart to realize what I've been missin'! Our encounter with mother nature begins on a mile-long paved pathway to a friendly little beach. We walked around the circumference of the lake, which is about four miles. The weather was brisk and chill yet comfortable- perfect Fall conditions. The puppies enjoyed the cool water and the warm sun. I would love returning to the reservation for a picnic or even for a camp out (there are benches to use and campsite available for rent). The park seems to be kept extremely clean and it reminded me of how absolutely wonderful the North Shore is!
